Barack in the Game…

PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT: TODAY IS THE LAST DAY TO REGISTER TO VOTE IN MASSACHUSETTS.

There is little question in our minds that President Barack Obama thoroughly beat former Governor Mitt Romney last night.  He not only exposed Romney’s vagueness and extreme plans, he defended his record and spoke the issues that people care about.  Romney’s few victories (and they were few), were wonky and not in an informative way.  Obama reached out better to Hispanics, women and, well people generally.

By far the worst moment for Romney was the Libya fact check where a stern Obama chastised Romney for suggesting he would use politics during the death of an ambassador and then Romney, exposing his willingness to do just that was shown up for not even having the facts straight…again.

Romney also lost out, bitterly on the subject of women where he did not answer the question and was later fact-checked to not be actively seeking women recruitment.

The polling still has not filtered out the debate and, frankly is all over the place.  Indeed, Romney’s surge appears to be increasingly driven by the venomous opposition to Obama in the South.  Elsewhere, however, people appear to be torn, but they should not be fooled by Romney’s shtick, which amounts to saying I’ll do better, I just won’t say how.  Luckily, Franklin Delano Roosevelt left us with a spectacular prebuttal to such ridiculous claims.
